W. n. 1.4571; UNS S31635; AISI 316Ti; X6CrNiMoTi 17-12-2; AFNOR Z 6 CNDT 17-12; DIN 17440; NF A 35-574-90

Main applications:

Used for constructions where intercrystalline corrosion resistance is required.
Like the other austenitic steels, AISI 317Ti steels can also be used for final usage where good formability must be paired with excellent corrosion resistance.
Compared to the more traditional AISI 316 and AISI 316L steels, the addition of a small amount of Titanium makes this type of steel more resistant to corrosion in welded areas (in particular with pitting), also in especially reducing, highly saline environments etc.
These particular characteristics make them suitable for equipment used in the paper industry, tanks for the chemical industry, submerged pumps.

CORROSION RESISTANCE

Description

Titanium-stabilised stainless steel. The titanium lends a property of avoiding the precipitation of the carbons at temperatures between 450°C and 800°C , thus giving it a higher corrosion resistance at these temperatures.
