CORROSION RESISTANCE

Description

AISI 630 is also known by its commercial name 17-4 PH, and belongs to the PH (Precipitation Hardening) steel family and is the most common in this group of stainless steels.
630 is an excellent compromise between mechanical resistance and corrosion resistance.

Its corrosion resistance is comparable to austenitic steels such as AISI 304/304L and, for several applications, with AISI 316/316L.
It is a martensitic precipitation hardening stainless steel, with excellent mechanical resistance, obtained by low-temperature tempering after solubilisation, avoiding significant deformation.

This steel is often the best solution to stainless steel mechanical resistance problems.
It is a structural hardened steel and unlike other martensitic stainless steels, its solubilised state is not its maximum hardness, only reached after tempering. The solubilised state is therefore especially recommended for processing or roughing in initial processing before tempering.
