Last October Alessandro and Floriano started a training course with Leanprove, an international consultancy company specialized in improving the performance and competitiveness of companies through the development of skills.

The Six Sigma methodology contains proven principles and techniques for the improvement and quality management in the company. These are derived from the William Edward Deming cycle and are structured in 5 stages, known as DMAIC.

The goal of the Six Sigma methodology is to aim for a process whose output is free from defects. The sigma “level” indicates how closely a company approaches a process that does not produce defects. Achieving Six Sigma means achieving process control that only has 3.4 defective parts per million.

With the Lean Six Sigma course, the participants developed the ability to analyze and improve business processes, integrating Lean principles and techniques with Six Sigma systems, a structured Problem Solving methodology, as well as learning identification and reduction techniques corporate waste, to increase business efficiency and profitability.

They also learned how to collect, process and statistically analyze business process data in order to set up corrective actions and make decisions objectively.

The LSS course has different levels of knowledge and skills which are: Yellow Belts, Green Belts and Black Belts.

Alessandro and Floriano reached the Green Belt after attending 15 training days, with interactive teaching, coaching on an operational project, practical exercises and certification of learning with final test.

Upon completion of the course they received the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
